Coach Drootin has been a head coach at the high school level for 15 years. In January 2008, he was honored by Dodger legend Tommy Lasorda and the Los Angeles Dodgers organization for his dedication and endless hours spent coaching high school baseball players.  As head coach at Newbury Park High School, Drootin's Panthers (13-1) won the Marmonte League Championship while breaking the school's all-time record for wins in a season. As head coach at Calabasas High, he led the Coyotes to their first Frontier League Championship in school history, and went on to win three league championships in five years. The 1995 Coyotes went undefeated in the regular season and were ranked #1 in California division 3 by Cal Hi Sports. Following the 1995 season, Coach Drootin was subsequently named Co-Coach of the Year by the Los Angeles Times and was later selected as head coach of the West Team for the Daily News Bernie Milligan All-Star Game.In 1997, Coach Drootin moved on to Chaminade High School in West Hills, where he led the Eagles to a 27-3 record and a Mission League Championship for the first time in school history, finishing the season ranked #1 in California division 1 by Cal Hi Sports.  The Eagles also won the Mission League championship in 2001 and again in 2002.  Coach Drootin's 2002 Eagles were ranked #6 in the country by USA Today.  In June 2002, Coach Drootin was named the Southwest's Most Inspirational Coach in the USA by Jiffy Lube.  Coach Drootin is one of the only high school coaches in California to win Championships at three different high schools.  In 15 years as head coach, he has produced 7 league championships.
Coach Drootin and his wife, Wendy, live in Northridge and have  been married for 32 years.  They have two children,  Todd Drootin and Stefanie Drootin.

Coach Plouffe went to Crepsi High School from 1996 to 2000, was a 3 year varsity starter and was honored as an All-Mission league player in 2000.  He received an athletic scholarship for baseball at Sacramento State in 2000 and played until 2005, then having Tommy John surgery just prior to his senior season.  Plouffe went on to play independent league baseball with the Chillicothe Paints of the Frontier League, the San Angelo Colts of the Central League, the Reno SilverSox of the Golden League and the Bradenton Juice of the South Coast League. Brother Trevor Plouffe was a first round pick (20th overall) by the Minnesota Twins in 2004. Marshall recently married to wife Marisa in October of 2008.
They have 3 dogs, Stoney, Chloe, and Lily.
Hobbies include fishing and playing poker.
